Don't know where to start?
The 3-question insulated booties fit guide.
Most returns happen because the bag was bought for the wrong trip. Three quick questions get you to the right rating, fill, and length the first time.
Step 01
What's the coldest night you'll see?
The comfort rating is the temperature at which an average sleeper stays warm through the night. Pick a bag rated 5°C colder than your worst expected night.
Step 02
How much weight can you carry?
Down packs smaller and weighs less, but costs more. Synthetic is heavier but warm even when wet — better for monsoon and motorcycle trips.
Step 03
How tall are you?
Regular fits up to 5'10". Long fits up to 6'4". Too-large bags waste body heat — you'll sleep colder than the rating suggests.
